Toba Sea-Folk Museum
The Toba Sea-Folk Museum was founded to preserve the knowledge and history of Toba’s fishing traditions and culture, and is the only museum in Japan dedicated to understanding the traditions of Toba’s fisher-folk, and the relationship between man and the sea. The museum features a popular exhibit on Ama (female divers) culture, designated the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Japan and Mie Prefecture. The wooden exhibition halls with a large space has garnered numerous awards including the Prize of Architectural Institute of Japan.
Convention(Conference) Facilities
The unique reception with about 100 participants can be held at the Exhibition Hall A that is designed to look like the bottom of an old ship. The lecture and the conference with about 90 participants can be held at the Projection Room in the Exhibition Hall A.
